new fireman pj's

Here are just a few pictures of Bay in some cute pj's. He is getting so big the pj's are 18 month size, I think they shrank in the wash so that is partially why they fit so well.
My brother's dog is such a good dog. Bay has really taken to animals and thought Henry was great too! He is more patient than our which helps.
I just had to laugh at his hair...he is definitely his mother's son with that hair. I love the fireman jamies that grandma Cheryl and grandpa Lee gave me...they fit me so well.

fun fun fun...Bay's already one!

Bay's first birthday party turned out perfect! The location turned out the be great, the weather perfect, the only thing that could have been better is if bay had not been sick and running a fever. He did really well considering being sick, he just wasn't quite his happy smiley self, at least not as much as usual. We decided to go with a monkey theme since he is our little monkey. If it wasn't for my family this party would not have turned out the way it did...by this I mean successful. Thank you everyone for all of the time and hard work that you did it means sooo much to us! Here are some pictures from his party!
Kira did a great job on the treat bags for the kids
His monkey cake it turned out absolutely perfect!
Digging into his cake...he made the funniest expressions, as you can see he wasn't as interested in eating the cake as he was destroying it Our friend Joey and Shawna's Boy Eli he is such a doll, notice how he didn't get too close to Bay and his mess he kept his distance. Notice how Bay decapitated the head of the cake and it is on the ground...monkey brains anyone?
The cake aftermath! What a job to try and clean up!

I love family time!

I love having family come to visit, it is the absolute best! We had the pleasure of having my Brother his wife and my niece (and their awesome dog Henry)and my parents visit over the weekend. It was especially neat because they were all here for Bay's first birthday which was great, the only drawback was the presence of germs, and that they never are able to stay long enough. Yep we had some sick kids among us this past weekend which made things much more low key and kept us a little more home bound that we had planned on. I just feel badly that bay wasn't his usual self and all smiley while company was here. Instead he had a fever and had a really rough weekend.
I thought that I may loose my mind if it had not been from the help that my family provided...thanks so much guys for all your help! I got a few pictures while they visited. Bay loved having his cousin Kira around! He actually took to her before anyone else and they seemed to have a great time interacting with one another.

birthday dinner

The birthday celebrations just seem to continue around our house. The day after my birthday we went to a restraunt called Bardenay for dinner. Its a neat restraunt in eagle that is located right along the greenbelt which runs along the river. It's nice beacuse they have a big outdoor patio that with views of the river right from your table. In addition to having a nice ambiance the food is fantastic. We went there with Candace Chad and Emma and then went for a walk with the kids along the river for about an hour. It was really funny that morning Candace was teasing me beacuse Bay and my outfits were about identical. We both had on jeans and a red shirt (no it wasnt planned that way) the best part was when we met up with Jeff he was also wearing Jeans and a red shirt. Candace said we should take a picture of the "red family" it was pretty funny.
I am posting this other picture of Jeff to showcase his facial hair which I think is great! He has since shaved it because he thinks that it looks lame but I like it when he is all burley I dont know why but I like it! Its mustache may on the fire department and lots of the guys are growing them out as a fundraiser for a guy on the department that has cancer. The picture just made me laugh, not because of the facial hair but because of the expression on his face..priceless!

another year older

Why does time move by so quickly...As I kid it seemed so much slower. Sometimes I miss being a kid, then again having a kid is kinda like being a kid all over again! I just celebrated my 27th year. Who knew that in 27 years you could have done so much and still have so much you still want to do.

As I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep I couldn't help but be grateful for all the things that I have been blessed with. My birthday always seems to remind me of my blessings. I think having my family call me, and my husband spoil me each year helps reminds me to be humble and thankful for what I have in my life. I think this year as I looked next to me in bed I felt even more thankful as I looked at my beautiful son sleeping nestled against my wonderful husbands chest. I think that is one of my favorite things, my baby boy and his daddy sleeping side by side.
I cant believe he is almost a year old, look at how fast time has gone by
I had a great birthday I was so spoiled... Candace filled the house with little notes for me saying happy birthday, she is so sweet and thoughtful, My families called me to tell me that they were thinking of me, Jeff brought me lunch. He also arranged for a babysitter so we could go see a movie together. He made me a great dinner, and spoiled me with sweet thoughtful gifts, and a decadent piece of chocolate cake...it was fantastic. Thank you everyone for making my day so special!

the big move

Can I just say that I hate moving. There is way too much prep involved and never enough time to do it all! We have been trying not to become idle while waiting on our carpet to arrive and be installed.
This is what our garage look like as of yesterday. It's so nice to be so organized!
Here is another view of the shelving that we bought, I really like it...thanks again Costco! Jeff has been putting together shelving and taking trailer loads over to the duplex all week as I have been watching the kids. As I was writing this post Jeff called me to tell me that our carpet is on back order until the first week or two of June. Lovely huh? I guess that gives us a green light to get all of our things moved this next week which in some ways will be nice to not just play the waiting game forever.

On another note the gardening is coming along as well. As Jeff was putting boxes away I carried Bay around on my back as I weeded the area between our planter boxes as well as one of the boxes. All I need is a bit of soil and we are ready to plant two of our boxes! I cannot wait to have a garden this year and be able to actually enjoy it the whole summer!
I was also super excited to see that our rubarb came back from the dead and is doing well...perhaps after the 4th of July and I am done with my workouts we can indulge and make a small pie! Yum!

pillow games

Bay has this obsession with pillows. It doesn't matter if they are on the bed, couch, or floor, he loves them all the same. He is always throwing himself into them and wiggling around all over them. We can't quite figure out but we think it's pretty funny!
As I was trying to pack up Bay's room Bay was entertaining whiskers with the pen that he was holding. Its been quite a job to try and find time to pack between both of us working and Jeff's tests last week. We don't have much time left to finish everything...its going to be a long week I think.
On Saturday I took Bay to see his daddy at work. When we drove up there were 3 of the guys drilling on the truck (Jeff being one of them). Bay was exhausted as you can tell but was very interested in looking and listening to the engine of the fire truck, he was probably more into the truck than his daddy because he was so tired and the truck was so noisy. Oh and I have good news to report. Jeff passed the practical part of his test so we just have to wait for the written part to be "graded." We will know if he passed completely next week. Keep your fingers crossed for us. Finally I had to post this as proof of how different infants are one from another. Emma is just about over 6 months younger than bay and look at how big she is already. She is not at all chubby but is sooo long...Look at how close to size they are to each other. It is just amazing since Bay has been so long since he was born. I think that Emma may outgrow him in the next few months. Check out the look on Emma's face, this is her pouty face it cracks me up she does this before she starts to fuss.

packing up

Sunday night was sooo hot that I let Bay run around in his diaper while I packed up the last few things in his bedroom. He was content as long as he was able to hold on to a pen. As I was talking to my dad on the phone he cruised over to the boxes and somehow managed to step into one of them. He didn't really know what to do once he got in so he just sat there for awhile and looked around. After about ten minutes he decided to try and get out...here is a movie of what that looked like...enjoy!

this years spring..

This years spring has been anything but normal...one day its fantastic weather and hot then next it freezes overnight and is cold and windy...where is our nice spring weather that we have been waiting so patiently for? We went this weekend and bought all of our plants but we do not dare put them in the ground since it is going to freeze again tonight, that and we don't want to get them into the ground until we will be able to take care of them daily...I guess that we will wait til the end of the month and just keep babying our veggi starts. i cant wait to have a garden! The lilac bushes on the other hand are out of this world here. I have never in my life seen them grow anywhere quite like this. The best part is they are super low maintenance. This bush I am not exaggerating is about 15 feet high. Just look at all those blossoms. There were 5 bushes like this surrounding the house. Now just imagine what it would be like to open your windows and smell their scent in your home at night or after a rain storm...mmmm...

first video standing

I noticed while I was washing the dishes that bay was just standing there...I watched him and he just stood there holding that toy for about 2 to 3 minutes...I would have taken the video earlier but I didn't think that I had time to get the camera...I guess I was wrong because here you have it...him standing all by himself...oh and did I mention he took his first steps towards his daddy all by himself yesterday...he's growing up way to fast...I guess you could say that he is officially walking before his first birthday huh?

crawling up stairs

Sorry there has been so many posts in such a short amount of time but I have had requests for videos of bay in action. Here is another one that shows how quickly he goes up stairs. Enjoy!

he loves the stairs

About a week or so ago bay discovered that we had left our baby gate at the base of the stairs open and guess what he did? Yes you probably guessed it he went right up the stairs. I was worried that he wouldn't be able to go down them and may fall but as usual, he figured out immediately what he needed to do without any assistance and went down them like a pro without any mishaps.

Back to Eagle

Here are some pictures that I took at the duplex yesterday.... The vine and our beautiful deck cover ...our vine is going crazy this year...look we have grass in our side yard! or is it weeds? who cares its green!
Look at the rosemary and sage plants..time for a trim I guesss
This is our place...It looks so green..I love it!

As mentioned before we are moving again, only this time its back to our duplex. Its time to move back to our place. Don't get me wrong I love the house that we have been in, its nice big and bright inside, but it is not where we want to live forever. We have also had a tough time in trying to maintain the duplex and our bills at the other place...it just wasn't working well. We decided to downsize and just get back into our own place and save some money and pay down some bills. As of now we have the whole month to move, but we have lots to do. My friend Melanie is all moved out and we are just waiting til we can get new carpet in towards the end of the month. Here are some pictures of our place...the lawn has really done well and is all green...Bay will love it I am sure! Yard work here I come1 I can't wait to put in our garden and be able to go to the cities Saturday market each week.

play time

I have been trying to download a few movies for the past few days but have not been having much luck. Sorry I wasn't able to post a longer movie but they wont upload for some reason.. Hopefully you enjoy the movies as much as I do as I am taking them. Bay is sooo close to walking. He is freestanding and taking baby steps from one thing to another very frequently over the last few days. He may even be walking by his first birthday. Here is a movie of him playing with a firetruck toy...he absolutely loves this toy! Enjoy!

last week of april

This week wasn't exactly all that exciting..I watched the kids as usual....they were pretty much angels this week...and Jeff helped out on his days off. He's such a great husband and daddy!
On Friday Jeff took Candace and Chad's cat named Mango to be shaved. Here are the before and after shots...poor cat huh? His hair is so long that they have to shave him in the spring because his hair gets matted and essentially he get dreadlocks and they become painful and he can't bathe himself. They shave him every april and Jeff likes to take him to get it done because he thinks its funny.Mango and Jeff pre-shave
Jeff giving Mango some love post shave...they lady calls it the "lion cut"

The weekend was fun we went out to dinner with Candace and Chad at the Cheesecake Factory which as always is amazing. It was neat they actually brought bay a place with sliced bananas and bread on it too! He thought it was great to have bread (it was a first for him). He was able to eat the squaw/rye bread without any trouble and the larger chunks of bananas. He is moving on to lumpier foods now...
